I know he is shaving it smooth. All I'm saying is a couple of extra minutes of care and he can avoid possibly damaging anything and causing more work. And he still has to remove the tape, the eraser wheel is a good way to do it without wrecking the existing paint.

Heat gun on plastic panel. This phot shows where the double sided tape is located. Comnes off very easily with heat applied. No holes, fasteners, or damage to tailgate.

Was it a second gen? Just curious. Lights or reflectors? Anywho, we are not talking about a dually.

I did google it. That why I was wondering if they were reflectors or actual lights. Bad design if they are liights. Can't last too long with the slamming of the tailgate up and down. Not to mention the wires. Makes a tilt wheel wire problem look tame.

I think it looks stupid too. Not a clean factory design by any means. The last one looks good without the lights.

And what is the purpose? Besides something else to short out if they are real lights. There is already a 3rd brake light. Bling I suppose.

Doesn't matter really, the OP most likely doesn't have a dually with any extra holes in the TG .
