help with an oil cooler problem

Default help with an oil cooler problem

i own a 97 12 valve cummins, and i keep blowing oil coolers. im looking for help here i blew 3 oil cooler now with in 1 month and i dont know why. when i change them i clean the radiator and the hoses the best i can. im not to good with diesel and this would be my first one own. im hoping i post this in the right place first time a forum like this. need advice soon she my every day driver.

Welcome. Im not real fimiliar with 12v but where at are they blowing out at? If it is a quick connect fitting i would say ditch it and get a good aftermarket kit. Not too many of us diesel guys on unlike some diesel only sites out there, so it may take a few days to get a good answer.

What does the oil pressure gauge in the dash say? (not that I trust the damn thing....) I would be tempted to put a mechanical gauge on it, and see what the pressure looks like.

Diesels have an oil cooler in the radiator?
