Odds are if #8 was fouled and oil on other plugs then you have a plenum issue. It's not a hard fix just a little time consuming. I changed mine recently as well as the timing chain/gears and it made a HUGE difference.

could the valve cover gasket be the problem because that has a big leak and any idea on the smell??

Smelling gas usually means running pig rich. Maybe injector stuck open, which would cause misfires.

If the oil was on the outside of the plug then yeah probably valve cover leak could be the culprit there, but I assumed you meant fouling on the electrode. If you have a chance pull the air cleaner off and take a peek down the throttle body and see how much oil is in the bottom of the intake. You may have to use a mirror if you can. See if you have significant pooling of oil back towards #8 or anywhere else for that matter.

And as far as the burning smell did it have a specific odor, like burnt rubber, burnt oil, etc? Any smoke anywhere while its running?

the plug will likely just ful out again in the near future unless the issue is addressesd... you have the symtoms of a bad plnum gasket... if you have the compression checked and #8 is good than I would say its very likely the gasket has failed at this point... the burning smell could be the oil burning since the #8 plug wasnt doing anything before since it was fouled and was passing the oil on into the cat where its plugging it up...
and +1 on what papa said... the valve cover gasket will just leak oil down the side of the engine which could cause a burning smell but it wont cause your plugs to get any oil on them... even on the outside if you have the shields around the spark plug holes...

Alright well I drove to work an lunch an it didn't smell like burnt oil or anything anymore and should I replace the plenum before the valve cover gasket cause I'm goin to replace cover and all so it looks a little fancy. And I wanted to thank everyone who has helped out and put their thought into this.
