Default mopar meltdown

i have a 98 dodge 1500 with the 5.9 L. 4x4. i went to go out and change my front passenger u joint. and that turned into me breaking the hub. which then turned into me bending the yolkes where the u joint goes in. and at the end of it. i need new tie rods. any suggestions/ help would be very helpful.

Okay a tie rod is one of your steering links. If you think you need new axleshafts, they should be easy to find at your local junkyard. Around here I can pull one for $20.

thanks man. but when i wne to tgo and pick out the axel shaft. i picked up one for a half ton. got it to the house and realized that it wasnt right splines. then one that came out of my truck had nice and deep splines. this one that i pulled had shallow shalklow splines. is that grounds for me having a 3/4 ton front end?

What does it say on the door? How many lugs on your wheels?

Inside the driver door jam should be a white tag with truck info there.

Is it possible that a previous owner upgraded to stronger axleshafts? A good indicator would be if the truck has a locker up front, lift/tires, etc.
