Default Heads

Im going to make an order from hughes in the near future for a set of heads. http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/products.php?browse=category&level0=U21hbGwgQmxvY2 sgTWFnbnVtICgzLjkvNS4yLzUuOSk=&level1=Q3lsaW5kZXIg SGVhZHM=&partid=25680
These are what im looking at getting.
Sooner or later im going to do the edelbrock intake and a cam. So i was wondering if i could just order the head with the new valve springs, locks etc on them and still run the stock cam. Or would i have to do the springs etc when i do the cam?

Erm, for about the same money, you can buy heads with all the valves/springs/locks/retainers from Odessa, and get 99% of the improvements as well.......

I found them on ebay, a set of iron ram heads with .515 springs for 380 each. Thats probly what ill do and get a .510 cam or something like that. But i can run the stock cam with these springs in the mean time right?

Ok, well if it wont be very good i might try and find a low mileage junkyard 318 and put it all together then put it in the truck. Because one of my buddies wants a 318 for his dakota so i could then sell him mine for what i pay for the other motor or somethin like that.

I found a cam i think i want at hipotek, its a hydraulic roller hpt 210x4 4x4, 210/214 .506/.506 110

To do the cam the engine needs to be pulled anyways so that scenario will work for you and your buddy.

Where the power shows up....

What you want to look at is the RPM range the cam is designed to operate in. You need to decide where you want your power, and then choose parts accordingly.
