Default Got some ping under load, Would higher Octane help?

When i have my foot in er I get a little bit of ping, cant even hear it unless the windows down, but its there, I have heard burning 89 or 91 octane instead of Regular old 87 Octane can sometimes eliminate ping, is there any truth to this?

Thought id ask before dropping the extra cash for the gas.

I ran some seafoam through the brake booster yesterday, lots of smoke, shes defiantly idling a bit better now but the ping is no better.

Thanks for the help.

EDIT: Also, My Plenum has been fixed as of last summer.

Try seafoaming it again then... might still be some carbon and such built up.

Will do, but is there any truth to the Octane level I was asking about?

it can help, but, you are just masking symptoms of some other problem.... best to solve the problem, not just hide it.

Add the fact that you have fixed the plenum to your sig AND profile, so we don't have to guess and waste time posting about it! My bet is you have the death flash, and need a tuner to get rid of it.

You can try autolight 3923 plugs and possible new 02 sensors

^dido on that. a good ignition tune-up (wires, plugs, cap & rotor, coil) may fix it. If not then you might have the death flash.

Sad thing is, the Death Flash was used to help alleviate pinging.
