Guess it would have been a good idea to have listened to some sound clips on youtube first to hear what you were buying...

Thats exactly what I did ( with headphones on ) which is why I went with that muffler. But oh well it doesnt sound like crap just not what i wanted. thinking about just putting a cut out right before the muffler so when i decide i want to be loud that day ill open it up, still just a thought. Deff wish i wouldnt have gotten rid of my tail pipe when i first bought the truck when i put the glass pack on. anyone here have a cut out?

Could you post a video or something of the sound of your muffler? The guy that I bought my truck from said it has a super 44 on it but wasnt sure

razbilljr, Which series of the 40 did you get? (super, delta, original, or whatever they have now)

You also have to make sure the vids your watching are of the same setup you have on your truck. High flow cats, headers, gutted cats all make it sound different and louder. I'd go the high flow cat route and use the muffler you got now, it sounds pretty nice-not too loud but definitely loud enough.

Cutouts are kinda obnoxious imo. I drove with a high flow cat/y-pipe without a muffler for a couple months and it was too loud. A lotta droning in the cab-can't hold a conversation unless you stop the truck. It also makes everyone look at you when your driving, which is kind of annoying. But if you like that then by all means...

I had a cutout it was awesome ! But had to take it off for emmision . If you drive less thess 5 k a year it can be exempt .

But if u didn't do a highflow cat yet , it will make your truck a lot louder and deeper . I hate glass packs

I think its just a glass pack thing because straight pipes are way less restrictive thn a glass pack and they dont pop?
