Default Replacing bearings in the rear.

I need to Replace my rear axle bearings and not sure if I have the HD axles or not. The tag on the differential has been snapped off. Is there any way to find out without pulling everything apart? Its a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.9

You have the chrysler corporate 9 1/4 rear end. The heavy duty version would have eight lug axles. Which you most likely do not have.

Get one of these, http://www.dodge.com/wccsapp/univers...ull&category=U

And it might also say about the axle on a sticker in the glove box and on radiator support.

That's what I thought but I just had to be reassured before I get started. The auto part store people are useless. Thanks
