Default Cd player radio swap error message

Bought a CD, Tape player radio off ebay for $62 to swap for mine that was just a cassette player. Said it was a good working Radio CD, Tape, player.

Hooked it all up and tried a cassette first goes it then it just spits it back out. So then I tried a CD stuck it in then it says ERR and it pops back out.

Just wondering if it has anything to do with that little hookup in the bottom left of the first picture. I don't know what it's for as I don't have anything that will plug into it.

Just curious, did they say what that radio/cd/tape player came out of? It's definitely a factory piece. Is that a Chrysler logo I see on the screen or something else?

What's the white connection on the side of the device that isn't plugged in?

it sounds like the tape player and cd player are dirty. the tuner part works right? were you trying to play a mix cd? maybe the player cant read those. my wifes cassette player did that same thing after playing old recorded cassettes. you can clean a cd player with a qtip or buy one of those cleaners cds

Didn't say exactly what it came out of, Just said will fit 95-98 dodge truck.

And I'm not to sure on what that connection is for either. Didn't know if that could be the problem or not.

Also turns out Cassette player works fine, i was using a bad tape. CD player still doesn't work, tried 5 cd's and all get the same results.

it will likely only play true "audio" cd's, so if you are trying to play a CD-R or MP3 or homemade copy, that probably won't work.

as said, try cleaning it and using only original CD's. if that doesn't work, then you've got a bad unit.

Well I cleaned it with one of those CD player cleaning CD's that have the fuzzy things on the CD to clean the lens, and It does the same with original CD's. So I guess I will be returning. It just goes click click click and spits it back out.

Did you read the thread? He cleaned it(CD), and the radio and tape work.
