I have a 2000 Ram 1500 sport, I need gears. The diff. covers have both been replaced and I cant find anything on the axle tubes. I thought I saw something that said the front is a dana 40 or a dana 44. Im pretty sure its a 9.75"

Anything helps.Thanks, Doug

What is it doing and how do you know the gears need replace?

I want to say the the 2000 and up sport models came with the 4.10 gears. Maybe it was 2001.

Ohhh. I thought it was the sport model. I am going to say you are right on this one. I couldn't remember which one it was. He needs gears if it is a 4x4, well if he puts any size tire other than 265's. Even then I would go with 4.10 gears.

The truck has no *****, there is something wrong with the truck but I havent figured it out yet. It shifts fine but when in has no ***** from a dead stop or from a roll. It goes to 5k RPM if i manually shift it so I know its not in limp-mode. I have 33's which calls for 4:10s according to the chart but I am going 35's and 4:56's are the same price.

The truck is trowing a P1398 code. I googled it and people say its either a crank sensor or a misfire. I replaced the sensor, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. still throwing the code off and on. the truck got a little more power but it still doesnt do what it should. The next thing I was going to do was replace tranny filter and fluid and clear out the cats to see if they were clogged but I havent done it yet. I cleared the codes out and it comes on for a bit then turns off. I dont think its the cats because Its not throwing a code for it.

Anyone had this problem?

PS: Sorry I jacked ur thread
