Default trip odometer does not function

Ok guys and ladies, I have searched for an answer and I have not come up with anything so now I am asking for your help. I have a 98 dodge ram 1500 5.9L. My problem is, is that my odometer shows the mileage I parked my truck at several months ago and when I move the truck or drive it, it does not add any miles to the trip function or the total. RPM and speedometer work just fine that I know of (as in I cant tell if it is off by 5 or 10). Right now it is 20 miles low than what should be on there. So if anyone can give me some solutions I would appreciate it!

Why would it be the cluster when everything else works just fine.

Speedometer is electrically driven, it gets a pulse signal from the speed sensor. Odometer is mechanically drive from the speedo...... speedo works, odometer doesn't. Problem is in the cluster....... not generally a user serviceable part... wouldn't hurt to look though I suppose.

Do some searching on google/yahoo/etc...There is a lot of info out the about repairing instrument clusters. I've swapped out odometers, but I have done many stepper motor replacements.
