ABS wheel sensor
I have been watching from the outside for some time and have enjoyed the education and tips that are provided on this site. Now it is my turn to ask for some help.
I have a 2001 dodge 2500 4x4 diesel and replaced the brakes on both axles. I also tried to replace the ball joints but was not able to free up the wheel bearing assy. I pulled the ABS sensor out and it broke where it attaches to the wheel bearing. My question, will this sensor still work? The brakes are working fine after a short road trip. But, the pedal acts like the abs is engaging when the truck is almost completely stopped.

The ABS sensor is designed to send a pulse, and the system compares this pulse to the otehr one. If is sees a specific differnce, the ABS activates. That's a little simplified, but bascially how it works. It would appear that it is not functioning correctly. I would replace it.
Also, welcome to DF. If you go to the FAQ/DIY section you can download a service manual and a parts manual for your truck. It will be very helpful.
