Default Got truck back from tranny rebuild... vibration under load @ 50mph +

So finally drove my 'new' truck for more than an hour without the transmission puking its fluid. Truck runs great at about 30mph, accelerates cleanly.

Not trying to stomp on it since the tranny was just rebuilt, but when I had the truck at 50mph and accelerated so that the trans kicked down to pass, the whole truck vibrated through the first few seconds of acceleration, then smoothed back out.

I've done some reading today about vibrations at 50, and alot of people say to check the tires. Well, my tires on the rims are crap, and were going to be replaced tomorrow at 8am. Im just trying to figure out why the vibration is only under acceleration after 50mph. The tranny was just installed Friday from Aamco.

I can try to nurse acceleration out of it, but like I said, putting my foot into it slightly caused the truck to basically cavitate. Since the trans is a fresh rebuild, I did NOT take it over 60.

What size tires, what gears, and has the plenum issue been addressed?

305-50-20 tires in rear, 295 50 20's up front. I didnt do it, I just bought it. It was supposed to go in for tires right after the trans shop, but i had to return to work and have it scheduled for first thing tomorrow morning to have the 305 50 20s installed on all 4 corners as well as an alignment.

I don't know the gearing yet or if the previous owner took care of the plenum issue because literally I have had the truck back in my possession for 5 hours or so... It's been at the tranny shop since I bought it 2 wks ago.

I will say this, im enjoying driving it for the first time...

First thing you need to do is go to your user CP here on DF and add "all" the info about your truck to your sig and profile.

Second thing, don't put it in 4wd if it is one .

3rd, read this thread before going any further. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...um-thread.html

Zman, Thanks for the assist.

1. Added what I know as of right now. Im in the middle of a lightning storm right now so can't check the rear axle just yet.

2. No worries. Out of morbid curiosity, what could happen?

3. Thanks for the link. I started reading that thread the other night, and knowing what awesome maintenance the prev. owner did, I am ordering one of the kits as we speak to do next weekend.
