Default Exhaust sensors.

hello i have a 96 ram 2500 4x4 5.9L gas. i took it to the shop to get new exhaust installed. the cat had been gutted and just left open by the previous owner. so they cut everything out and ran true duals all the way back but no cat, and left the sensors hanging. i believe its the pre cat and the post cat sensors. can i run the truck like this? will it hurt anything? and at times my oil pressure gauge drops to 0. i have no clue where to start. please help?

It will rip out your emissions sensors and **** off your PCM.

O2 sensors need to be in the exhaust stream. They help the PCM maintain the correct ratio of fuel to air. These trucks get bad enough mileage as it is, so, they need all the help they can get.

You may get a code for cat efficiency. (as it isn't there...... it can't possibly be working....) You can do the non-fouler trick on the REAR O2 to deal with that.

Put a mechanical oil pressure gauge on the truck, and see what pressure is REALLY doing. If it does indeed drop to zero, need to find out why. (most likely worn bearings.)

And take it back to the muffler shop and have them weld in O2 ports. They should know better than that!

Front one needs to be in the exhaust. For the rear, there is an o2 simulator available here: http://www.thefastman.com/o2simm.php
