Default PCMSCAN setup

Anybody here using this tool? I can't get it to connect to my truck. Played with the settings for a while with no luck. Here is what I think it's not working for me, I am using my buddy's USB cable for is KTM Super Duke, do I need a dodge specific cable? It's the trial version to and I am computer retarded so it doesn't help lol.

Thanks

Probably your cable. There are specific requirements for which one it wants. But, at least it DOES support USB cables. More info Here.

Alright, thanks. The cable I have is defenitely not in that list, KTM and Dodge are pretty far apart I guess.

Get the right cable, play with the software, and then write a review please. I am REAL interested in your impressions. (I have the software, but, no cable, and no laptop....)

i have 3 programs i use. pcm scan, scan xl (both made by palmer performance) and obdwiz (it came with the cable). i like scan xl WAY more than i like pcm scan. i think i paid around $80 for mine right from palmer performance. the only cable that i've gotten to work with all 3 programs is the ELM-5. they have them on amazon, and im sure ebay. i got the cable and obd-wiz from amazon for about $40. (obd-wiz seems to work pretty good too). PCMscan is a pretty good program but i like scan-xl better.

PCMSCAN looks pretty good so far, probably way to much in deep for what I want to do right now, reading CEL codes. I will probably end up playing with it a lot more once I have my truck where I want it.

I will keep you up to date.
