4BT Swap
At this rate I would be better off putting my 360 back together. Selling it for a loss and just finiding a cheap 2500 with the cummins from the factory...
Again, there will be very minimal towing, no racing or hard driving. Engine will stay stock...
I have a CR to satisfy all my power needs

mine didn't stay stock for long... hehe
besides who wants a stinkin CR when you can have a twin turbo + supercharged P-pumped 24v 2nd gen that would blow the doors off a CR?!

Three grand for a long block? Ouchie. There are a lot of parts missing for an installation there..... the project would still end up being cheaper if you bought a wrecked/undriveableforotherreason diesel truck....
Unlike trying to find a truck to yank one from.
That's the thing about diesels though.... 150K miles is just getting broke in..... can also find reman 6bt for a hundred or two more..... and it's an easier install.
I can find the whole truck with around 100K for around 3K or so......
Suppose it just depends on what kind of budget you have for this kind of project.
