What year did the 6Bt stop being, essentially, one-wire and switch to a computerized system?
98 was the last year of the 12v P7100

however! A 98.5-02 24v can be converted to use the P7100 injection pump giving you the best of both worlds...modern head with better flow and double the valves, with all mechanical injection and timing...no electronics.

But the auto trans would require some PCM interface I would imagine...hmmm.

who needs an auto?! NV4500 FTW! lol

oh need another reason to get a diesel? price of fuel lately has come down...around here gasoline is now $4.19/gal for regular, and diesel is now $3.89/gal

about time diesel got back down below premium gasoline costs...that crap was ridiculous... diesel is the cheapest fuel to refine yet they charged more for it...

While I don't have anything against a manual, I would rather have an auto, it would make life easier (provided I don't blow it up).

Special thanks to the EPA for our diesel prices. You know, nearly every country in liberal EU has a majority of diesels on the road, but we seem to be the only ones stuck driving gassers because the commie EPA says diesel is killing the whales and polar bears.

I'd love to open my wallet, look, see no money, and then just shrug my shoulders and fill my tank with filtered waste motor oil from the kitty litter jugs I keep in my garage....

It didn't help that back in the 70's, when american manufacturers were 'experimenting' with diesels in passenger cars, they made the horrid mistake of trying to convert an existing gas engine to diesel. (I'm looking at YOU Oldsmobile.... oh wait, they are gone now...... ) Diesels got a rep for being noisy, smoky, and smelly.... and they didn't last long in the passenger car market here. The rep, however, stuck with 'em.....

I wanna see a 6BT in a 4000 pound Cadillac.

I think the sump would drag the asphalt even with a scoop on the hood...

Airdog w/ a 3m filter and WS fed into the stock fuel filter solved that

The injector issues really is more of a rail pressure issue and poor filtration from the factory (7 micron absolute). You can only achieve 5 micron in the stock location with a baldwin drop in filter. You have to add another set up with filter mounts or trade your fuel pump for fass, airdog, etc.

Bosch suggests down to 2 micron nominal (which is about 50% filtering rate)
Best diesel fuel filter you can by is the 3m Donaldson spin-on.

Keeping the programming away from altering rail pressure(Easily achieved with EFIlive), along with a good fuel filter almost completely eliminates the injector failures
