Default Transmission Rebuild

Hey new to the forum. I have a 2001 1500 Quad 4x4 5.9 with 177,000 miles original transmission. Every since I have had this truck since it was new Ive been waiting for the trans to go out. Ive never serviced the trans but I am now feeling that the trans is getting weaker. I was wonder what changes would need to be made in the rebuild. The 94 Ram I had previously had the trans rebuilt 3 times, I don't want to face the same problems.

Look on page 6 of MonteC's transmission corner in the faq section. There, you will find a list of suggested upgrades for a member that regularly towed a 7K pound trailer. Follow that list, and you will be golden. Biggest thing is, get a GOOD torque converter. If you spend less than 200 bucks on it, you didn't get a good one.

One change to that list though, instead of the GM governor conversion, get the Borg Warner heavy duty governor pressure solenoid, and sensor. Save you a hundred bucks or so on that build.
