Default Transmission Question

This is my first post on DodgeForum.com. I have a 97 ram with the 360 engine..I just purchased it about a week ago and love it! but while under the truck checking everything out i noticed a small rubber tubing about 1'-1.5' long and prolly only about a 3/8 or maybe 1/4 inch diameter. I believe it came out from the top of the transfer case and just dangles there. Thought maybe it was some sort or overflow tube but not really sure. The trans itself seems very clean to be 15 years old. It was bought from a dealer so he was unsure whether there was a recent trans replace or not. Not to sure what this might be or if the other end of the tube should be connected to something. There was nothing at all i could tell it connected too. Any advice would be appreciated.
