Bs is right, I drove around for a week without the rear O2 and it got worse mpg, My op is that the rear O2 does play a small part in fuel trim, not much but some. Install both and be done with it, Not to sure if it's my performance pcm but no cel for the rear O2 without using anti- foulers.

filled the truck up yesterday $80 and i was pulling a 6x15 double axle lawn trailer. then loaded 2000lbs of weight on the trailer. drove 78 miles and got 3.12 mpg... now i have no gas lol. i went and got the front one welded on and seems to be better idleing and more power. i left the rear o2 out. if it still gets worse im gonna put the rear into it to.

and another thing does it matter which pipe they welded the bung on? the shop welded it on the driver side pipe.

no, it doesn't matter. your reading 1/2 of exhaust stream, so you have to just flip a coin.

3 mpg. i think that's a record low.

Try it without first, and see if you get codes. If you don't, don't worry about it, if you do... address it then.

Supposedly, if you CAREFULLY drill the non-fouler so that the O2 threads in tight, but, doesn't bottom, you can use just one. Most folks using two just blow completely thru the first one. It acts as more of a spacer than anything else.

the one so far is definitely better on gas but when i get on it, just seems to drink fuel way more, i understand about how you drive it but just to keep up with traffic at a stop i gotta get into it and it just drinks. i have bosch plugs in i seen on here boschs make em run like crap so i went and got NGK. would that help out at all? and theres no CEL anymore... when i took it to the parts store and they read the codes and said it was "bank 1 lean o2 sensor".

Depends on which bosch plugs....... I put in bosch coppers, and they seem to do ok.... (that was the only copper plug that they had 8 in stock at the moment.....)

I don't bother trying to keep up with traffic either. I accelerate as I feel like, and drive like I feel like. I am not too much of an impediment to traffic flow, as I DO go the speed limit.. (or a little bit more....) I just don't feel the need to get their as quickly as possible.
