i have a 1998 ram 1500 4x4,,,,,trucks been running grear no problems at all,,,parked it for 3 days and wont start now,,,gas gauge was buried below the e and know i had half a tank,,,put 5 gals in it and gauge didnt move,,,checked fuses cant find a bad one,,tryed a little starting fluid didnt even cough just rolled over,,,,then noticed oil pressuregauge ,batt gauge and fuel gauge arent working,,,wiggled wires looked around for loose wires didnt see any,,,,stumped

 

Make sure your battery is charged. Then check fuel pressure. do you hear your fuel pump priming when you turn the key to on?

 

ASD relay not being engaged, or, has failed. Swap the ASD and horn relays. See if it will start.

can hear fuel pump when ignition is turned on,,changed it about 6 months ago,still just cranks no fire up

 

Does the fuel pump run WHILE you are cranking?

 

turn key on can hear it,crank engine over and when i stop can hear it shut off

 

Try cycling the key a few times, then if it does not start, do you smell gas?

 

Are you getting spark? If not and none of the gauges are working, then i would suspect a failed pcm.

 

Need to find out what's missing. Either spark, or injector pulse. One of the two sensors (cam, or crank) is working, or the fuel pump wouldn't run.....
