can i drive my truck with a leaking water pump?
my water pump is leaking but i cant fix it till the weekend .im keeping an eye on the level of coolant but is it safe to drive it with it leaking alot?im filling it everyday till i can get to it.iread someplace the entire fluid when it gets real bad will all leak out at once is this true?this is my only way of getting to work i dont have another car or truck would you think its safe to drive it till the weekend leaking?its leaking all over the front of the pulleys.thanks
if you can manage(refill) the leak and NOT NOT NOT let it run hot, you can drive it as long as you want to.
be very careful about refilling - and either use extreme caution (and technique) when opening a hot radiator, or don't open it till it cools.
another trick when working with hot radiators is to only close the cap halfway, and not lock it down. this prevents pressure from building up, but also allows a little more coolant to escape, so its a trade off.
i've driven with badly leaking radiators where i had gallons of water in the car/truck for frequent refilling.

Long as you can keep enough fluid in there for it not to run hot.
This is one of the VERY few times I'm going to suggest going with the actual Mopar part for replacement. I've not seen an aftermarket yet not develop problems leaking at the gasket...

I've driven my truck for a while with a comeplletly broken water pump, and it leaked a little.
Replace the pump as soon as possible but you should be fine. Just keep an extra cautious eye in the temp gauge

How do you know it's the water pump that's leaking? Or did you start a new thread about the same issue and I don't recall the other thread?
