Searched but did not find an answer. Disability dictates putting another set of nerf bars on my 2001 4x4 ram 1500 quad cab. My question is this: are the frames for the regular cab and quad cab the same in regards to the mounting points? The regular cab nerf bars are much cheaper, I really don't need the rear steps and I'm kinda sure that I've seen it done but want to be sure. Appreciate any info.

 

I don't think it'll work... most of the bars mount to the body mounts, which are in different locations between std, and ext. cabs.

 

Decided to just bite the bullet and ordered a set. Was on sale for $140 with free shipping so not too bad.
