slow seat belt retraction

Default slow seat belt retraction

does anybody else have this problem, my seat belts retract like crap they just don't want to retract is there a solution to this?

Unfortunately, the "fix" is to replace them.

Can't go in and clean stuff in there? Mine do it too, I just haven't cared enough to open it up and take a look. Mine retract into the side of the cab thoug, unlike the OP's, whos should go into the seatback...

Seat belts are one system that I really don't care to experiment with. You won't know if what you did caused any problems, until you actually NEED your seat belts, at which point, it will be way too late..... I suppose shooting a little lubricant in there, and cleaning out various things wouldn't hurt...... but, I wouldn't disassemble them very far at all.

When I had the seats out of my truck to replace carpet, I disassembled seats, cleaned, painted frames.....and cleaned years of dust and crap from seat belt retractor. Though it was going to take my head off after that! Small air gun nozzle, upholstery cleaner, and safety glasses......
