Default 97 ram high idle

First off this forum is awesome! I have learned a lot just by reading threads here. I've searched but couldn't find an answer so here it is. I have a 97 ram 1500 4x4, 5.2, nv3500. The issue is the idle stays around 12 to 1300 rpms. I've replaced the iac and cleaned the tb with no change. I have not replaced the plenum gasket yet. (Next thing on the to do list). Kinda stumped, so any help would be great!

Checked to make sure nothing is possibly catching on the throttle cable? Shot in the dark here...

Also, when sensors were replaced, was the battery disconnected?

Have to double check the throttle cable, and yes the battery was disconnected before I pulled the tb. Looked as if I was the first to clean it lol.

the throttle cable was mentioned, but also verify the plate inside the throttle body is closing up tight to block off the air.

if plate is closed ok, then i'd replace the TPS, throttle position sensor, drivers side of throttle body. about $40-50 at any parts store. keep your old IAC and TPS as a spare (if this doesn't fix it).

Thanks for the reply! I know the plates were closing properly cause that's one of the first things I checked. I'll give a tps a try. Thanks again!
