Default exhaust and tranny

98 ram 2500, can i cut out the cat without throwing o2 codes or does anyone know of any dummy plugs i could plug the 2nd o2 sensor into to keep it from throwing them. also with the nv4500 would it be safe to pull a 4000 lb trailer in 5th or should i keep it to 4th when towing?

Yes you can cut out cat, and yes it will throw codes. Do a search for "O2 sensor trick" which uses spark plug anti-fouler and this may take care of it.

Welcome to DF.

the only reason they told me that they would not be able to do it is if there is an o2 sensor behind the cat, because it would throw a code. small town usa the local ford dealer is the place to go for dpf and egr deletes

Yes. Our 360s couldn't hurt that transmission if they wanted to. As long as you are geared for pulling in OD like that you won't hurt anything.

@dly, yeah they charge about $50-$75 depending on what they have to do to get the cat out and pipe and weld back in

@2x, it has 4.10 gear in it and i do alot of towing on the interstate, unfortunatly we have some decent hills out here so it isn't just a nice cruise

Nothin' like the west side of MT though

Keep oil in that tranny (don't ask...) and it will last forever behind that 360. It's a diesel trans so it doesn't even notice our little v8's in front of them. I love mine.
