1997 dodge ram trans question
ok here we go i have a 1997 dodge ram 2500 5.9 gas automatic
when it would warm up it would stop pulling after it cooled down it would go again
so i got another tranny from a running truck drove it myself put it in and now i have the same problem with it
fluid level is good in neutral not burned this was a perfectly good working tranny
any ideas before i scrap it dont want to buy a new one if i am just going to have the same problem with it also the trans temp lite came on once no blockage in any of the lines or the cooler

i put a clear line on so i could see what was going on.
i can leave it in neutral and there is no fluid flowing and after a few min i hear a like chatter noise and then the fluid flows for a little bit and then it stops again after a few min it will flow again someone said torque converter was bad any ideas i would order a new tranny but i am afraid i will have the same problem

Reusing a converter from a failed transmission can cause a good transmission to go bad. The reason? trash and debris from shelled out tranny goes into converter,,and when reused, this ttrash goes into treplacement transmission.
Pull the pan and the sensor and solenoids. Look for trash around magnet and on those parts.
