Default 01 5.9 dodge ram won't turn over

i got this truck dirt cheap guy parked it 6 months ago tried to start it and it would so he sold it. he said b4 he parked it ran fine he had put a 1994 transmission in it at one point. well anyway i put a new battery on it and started from there i can take the relay for the starter out and bypass it and will roll over with no problem but still won't start its almost as if something is telling the engine not to start for what ever reason. i talked to the guy i got it from a little more and he said it also needs a gear positioning sensor? not really sure what to try also there is no check engine light but i checked for codes anyway and the only one i got was p0443

update
replaced the neutral safety sensor and it will turn over with the key now but still wont start....you can here the fuel pump turn on i checked the spark by pulling a plug could not tell if it was getting spark or not so going to check again this evening.

It could be the crankshaft position sensor, which is in a pita spot to get to. It's behind the pass side head in the top of the trany and most likely got damaged when he put in the trany.

94 trany is a 46RH and a 01 needs a 46RE not to sure how the pcm will like that, someone more familiar with trany/pcm will chime in.

Yes the crank sensor will stop the engine from firing. I found this out because I forgot to plug it back in when I installed my engine...
