Default 99 Ram AC Issue

Hi guys. I am new to the Dodge World and just bought a used 99 RAM 1500 Club Cab 5.9l 4x4. It has a problem with the AC. When I start the truck the AC blows cold air, but after about a few mins I hear a POP (like the blend door moving to HEAT and then the air becomes super HOT! If I turn it off for a few mins and turn it back on it starts this cycle over again. At one point it even started alternating between hot and cold on its own every few mins. I have also noticed a little more than usual amount of water-like liquid dropping from the passenger side beneath the engine after I come back from a drive. Can you guys help me with this? Is this something a novice can work on (never worked on cars except a few simple things like the clock spring, etc) or do I need to go to a pro? Appreciate your help!

Do a search for heater treater kit for blend door fix. Good water condensate from drain hole is good sign rest of a/c system is working right.

So the fact that the ac works for the first few minutes would still suggest a blend door being bad?

Check and see if the compressor is still running when it gets hot.

Look under the dash, just to the right of the trans tunnel, at the bottom of the heater box. See a little module there with a couple wires going to it, attached to the bottom of the box? If so, then the heater treater is 99% likely to solve your issue.
