Default 14x3 Air Cleaner and Cold Air Noise...

I tried the cold air (Spectre), changed that POS out for the 14x3 with spacer for linkage and the vacuum sounds are driving me crazy... Sounds like one huge vacuum leak in the interior under light throttle.

Anyone else notice this too?

Yeah, it just makes me grab the card cleaner and start spraying looking for vac leaks lol.

I am going to do the 14" air cleaner conversion on my truck. How much clearance is needed to clear the throttle cable assembly?

Not much, I got the spacer kit at AutoZone for a few dollars and used one of the spacers in the package.

all depends on the bottom plate on the air cleaner. my 14x3 required a 1/2" spacer. i was using a 1" spacer, but i went with a true 3" filter, and had to step down to the 1/2" spacer.

I also hate that sound. And IMHO, you gain nothing. And in my experience , you will lose bottom end. Suck some more hot air in. LOL

I like that, maybe I could reverse the fan and have to blow back on the engine thus making it Ram Air while I am at it...
