tranny issues 01 ram 1500
hey guys I have an 01 ram 4x4 wit 46re transmission its a good truck but i had the tranny rebuilt and it was working great but now its stuck in 1st gear and wont shift at all its throwing codes for th o.d./tcc and the govner im lost with this one if any one can please i I love this truck and have alot invested in it
Two suggestions, first, check the 8-pin connector on the drivers side of the trans, half a foot or so behind the shift linkage.
It that ain't it, take it back to where you had it rebuilt.

OK. That makes it a little more difficult. Check the connector as HeyYou stated, This connector supplies power to the governor solenoid, TC lockup and OD solenoids. It also provides for pressure sensor to send signal to PCM on fluid pressure, and without that reading, it will not know to shift up.
Let us know what you find out. Also, check fluid level - and do it in Neutral and not in Park. (only use ATF+4!)
And I did not look to see if you are new here, but if so, go to FAQ/DIY section and download the 01 service manual. It has a great trans section in it with diagnostics and other data. Grab the parts manual also.
There are also a number of tranny threads here about rebuild and other problems and solutions. Let us know what you find and we should be able to help get you shifting!
