How to make my truck louder but throaty?

(To the OP)Someone hates their neighbors. I was never more thankful than when the guy across the street with the 2005 Ram moved. Every time he came or went, he woke us up. He said he had glasspacks on. I called them @$$hole pipes. Seriously, why should anyone have to sleep by your schedule? Why should your desire for an obnoxiously loud truck determine when/if your neighbors sleep? I know, consideration of others is for old people and we should be able to be as noisy and inconsiderate as possible.
Now, I hate the sound of glass packs too, but they are far from unreasonable. Straight pipes however, are a step too far for everyday driving and are obnoxious and illegal.

Just unbolt the two bolts at the back of each manifold, and remove everything aft of that. Should make the truck a bit louder, and last I checked it was pretty inexpensive to do.
Fuzzy dice also make the truck have a more "Deep-throaty" sound. Please post a video of the sound after you complete these two mods.

I have had a few vehicles with less than PC exhaust. Even with a very open loud exhaust there are things you can do to be nice to those who live around you.
For me, I kept my foot out of it in the neighborhood. I was content to very lightly using my throttle and that kept it reasonable.
I did not let my vehicle "warm-up" for extended periods of time in the driveway. I also did not do anything that could be labeled "clearing the carb" in my drive way at night.
I think you can have open pipes and still be considerate. If you are goosing the throttle and playing with your exhaust around the people you have to live with at night, well they might not wave at you will all of their fingers.
Day time, it is GAME ON!!! I would run open headers at times and never worried about it. I guess if the people around me hated it they let it ride

That sound is basically why most people buy big V8s, and then put a louder exhaust on them. They love they sound when they mash the skinny pedal, me included.

Nothing sounds worse than a little (360 ci) low compression V8 with straight pipes...Except maybe a 57 Chebbie with twice pipes
FYI...Our Gen II Rams are low compression truck motors, why the hell you would like to advertise that I have no idea.
I've always said the trick is to make people roll down the window to hear your TRUCK...Not up to escape the noise.

I run mufflers on my drag tuck, I don't have to, it's a trailer queen...But unless you can back the noise up with a 9 second time slip...Put a muffler on it.
Clip from the last bracket race...Yellow truck had a 5 second advantage...I caught it with .006 tree.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I can't wait to quiet my truck down by putting a real exhaust on it.
