How do I remove it? I am afraid to drill it out with titanium bit.....but anyway, now I know why they say you should replace bolts.....not reusable at all....lol....

I was able to lift my manifold off with the front bolt broken off and the bolt still in place. Use something like a piece of wood and pry manifold up a little bit and work around. If you have all the bolts off, the gaskets may be holding it. But the bolt does not have to be out to lift off.

With manifold off, you may be able to get bolt with a pair of vice grips. Actual vice grips, not Chinese knock offs. Use plenty of good penetrating oil to soak it as long as you can .....

And if not buy you a easy out. It will take it right out. Just be careful to not break the easy out off in the bolt. I imagine that autozone has some easyouts.

thanx guyz......i will try approach no. 1 first.....I trust this and myself more trying to pry manifold off (with caution of course)....I alsop believe that with the rest of the bolts off it should come right off. If that is the case, I will get some pb blaster, soak that sucker, and vice grip it right on off. If it does not work, I will go with the easy out ( i had to research that), but I really dont trust myself with that option (too many ways to screw it up it seems...not driulling right in center, lateral force, etc.)......Nonetheless, this has actually been fun (EXCEPT THIS UNEXPECTED PART). I have learned that the next time I do this I will soak all bolts in the pb blaster first., and then spray them again after that. I cannot stress how I have really liked learning all this stuff, and this is my first time doing this (I am very tech savvy, and, as well, somewhat mechanically inclined). I looked at valve seal covers and they seem to be covered in black soot (oil, dried and burnt maybe I dont know). I thought about doing something to themk, but truck has been down long enough, and I am afraid that I will see something that wont let me sleep (ignorance will have to be bliss, in this case). All that stated, if and/or when the heads bid me farewell, how much trouble is it to do a toatl rebuild (I know guys here in memphis that can do the cylinder heads for 200, and they do good work). Just curious (really loving this stuff).

I plan to find another engine cheap somewhere to rebuild before mine needs it. That way, all I have to is swap them out. This allows me time to look around for a deal, and minimize downtime. I have a spare Jag engine rebuilt out back for another vehicle I have should I ever need it.

So if you can find one sometime before you think yours willl die, you can have it back up and running over a weekend.

where are you at on this?
is the intake manifold still on or off?
if on, will it lift straight up, or is it still stuck to the block.
if stuck to the block, gently pry it loose but don't break anything.

it should lift straight up, even with a broken bolt...

once the intake is off, if the broken bolt is sticking up above the block, that's the best case scenario. pb-blaster, heat from plumbers propane torch onto the broken bolt, vise grips.... and it will come out.

I broke both the front intake bolts, and was still able to remove the intake. Makes getting the broken bolts out MUCH easier.
