Water in floorboard - puzzled!
I noticed about two weeks ago that I had standing water in my passenger floorboard. Of course, I assumed it was my heater core, so I bypassed it, cut the carpet out, dried the metal floorboard, reinstalled the carpet and padding and put my floormat back down assuming it was fixed. To my dismay, I now have standing water again. It can't be the heater core. I have been told that the A/C drain tube can become obstructed and drain back into the cab. Does anyone know where I could find this tube? And what I could do to unclog it? Otherwise, hit me with some things to check, also before anyone asks. No, it has not rained. Thanks for any info in advance!
Passenger's side for sure. Lower firewall, it'll be a rubber grommet sticking out. I think the whole grommet will pull out with a little wiggling. Pretty sure that's where I've seen it during oil changes.
I would search the forums for the terms "water and floorboard" and investigate the hits: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/search....archid=3974942
What i did on mine was squeeze a spark plug wire elbow on it. At higher speeds it can drain back into the cab. Chevy's had that same problem. On the passenger side inside the engine compartment you will see a nipple coming out of the firewall. That is where you would put the elbow from an old plug wire.
The tube is located under/behind the accumulator/dryer bracket. Which is located just to the right of the PCM .

Mine did the same thing yesterday. Slight dampness, so no biggie. I put a rubber hose ins and used shop vac and then blew compressed air into the tub. Then installed clear vinyl tubing about 6" long with small hose clamp. No problem today.
You can also pull blower motor and twist your arm like a pretzel and dig out some mud gathered at base of evap core. Mine drains good but also leaks inside because of crack in the black plastic box the evap core sits in. Also stuck a 90 degree rubber elbow on drain plug. Rubber floor mats help too.
