98' Random Stall
I just recently purchased a 1998 Dodge Ram 360 Mag. Went through the basics, replaced the plugs/wires. Brakes, shocks. I got the truck for nothing, and it ran.
However it is having this problem and for the life of me no mechanic can give me a straight answer, so I figured what the hell lets turn to the internet.
When I start the truck and drive around for lets say....2-3 minutes tops, it will randomly drop RPM and stall out. I can shift it back into neutral, turn it over, with no problem and it will run like a beauty.
If I make another quick stop it will die again, however if I keep driving and don't stop immediately after then I won't have the problem again. Sometimes not until it has sat for hours.
I've tried to leave it just idle and see if it dies, but it won't. It will only die if I am giving it gas on and off for a few minutes while in park.
I have been told it is the fuel lines, a weak fuel pump, a bad fuel filer. Someone told me it was misfiring. Realistically each shop I have posed this problem to has given me a different answer.
Looking for any suggestions.
Thanks.
