rear end help plz

Default rear end help plz

i have a 98 dodge 1500 lifted going to put 410 gears or 456 i dont know what would work better and i would like to be abill to us 5 gear to right now i have no power to turn my 35.s on the high way i was thinking LSD to and what rationo of lsd would be good to have . and can i do my rear end with lower gears and do my front end later i am going to be putting a dana 60 in the front if i do my gears in the front ?? so if i just do my rear end i cant us 4x4 till i do the front end?? right or wrong i have no idea

if the gear ratios don't match, its ok for 2wd driving but you must absolutely not use 4wd. it would be best to temporarily remove the front drive shaft to prevent its accidental use.

4.10's and 33's will return you to the original stock ratio. general opinion is that 35's get along better with 35's, but its a bit of a toss-up. consider how much 70+ mph highway driving you plan to do. 4.56's will jack up the freeway RPM a good bit.

I was in the same boat you are in now. I had 456 installed in my truch and they do a great job, but now I wish I had installed 488's.With 456 you will have no problem running down the road at 70.
I also had to wait on installing the front gears. You shouldn't use the 4x4 until you have gears in both front and rear.
