Damn $48... How is it used? Does it keep the adjusters from rotating while you loosen something or does it unscrew the adjusters while you rotate it with a socket wrench?

Did you just weld the correct sized bolt head onto a long socket extension when you made yours?

Ok WOW This is a pain in the ***! I made a special tool for the bearing adjusters out of 1" PVC pipe and a coupler hexed off to fit inside the adjuster. Now I can't figure out how to remove damn side bearings from the carrier and pinion bearing. I think I am F&@ked because I can't find the right tools locally. Also the new side bearings on the carrier look like the bore on the bearing is too small. I won't know for sure until I figure out how to remove the old bearings.

I shouldn't have messed with this and just sold the POS truck as it was.

Ok I just got a large puller and hopefully I can get this thing fixed up tomorrow. I will take pictures so it will be easier for others to know what they are in for.

My rear end has made all of the exact same noises you described. Its been 15k miles, ill be taking it in finally to see exactly what the problem is to see if I could do it. My plan is to drive it till it goes..then replace it with a used rear. Just a couple of bolts and hooking up the brakes your done. I don't see the need in spending close to half of what I paid for my truck on repairs lol
