Default Ram 1500 Price?

There's a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport on Craigslist. The dude wants $5000. Looks like a nice truck but I don't know if it's worth that much or not.

It is a 3" suspension lift, automatic, 5.9L V8 (15 mpg, my 3.9L gets 13.5 mpg haha) Says it has 165,000 miles, records of every oil change and said it's been taken great care of, never ran real hard, 100% sound no ticking/knocking.

2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport for sale! $5,000!!! Lift Kit & Towing package!!!! Lots of extras....Truely a deal!!!! Call (540) ***** SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE!!!!

I would not pay $5k. Maybe in the $3k range after a test drive and look over. Also, where are they getting 15mpg?

I'm not sure how he figured the 15 mpg, I haven't seen the truck yet. I thought the price was a little high. There are a few over 5 grand and a couple in the 3800 margin.

I wouldn't wanna pay that much for an auto w/ 165k on it, but the prices in virginia are a lot higher than here in mass. KBB lists that truck at around $5500 so I guess thats a fair price.

And from the pics, it doesn't really look like its lifted...but what do I know?

What about this truck? 140k miles, ext cab, red paint and sport edition for $4000: http://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/cto/3129536788.html

And when you go to look at any ram, obviously try and check down the TB for oil. That way you can tell the guy your gonna have to pay big bucks to get the plenum fixed, and he'll drop the price.

Nice truck but that's in NC. I don't trust my truck to drive 3 hours to and from, I'm looking for something within the 30 minute range :P

The oil in the TB, you do that often to get a reduced price? lol

Yeah, that's a far drive, sorry didn't realize the location of it lol.

sadly, no one gave me such advice to check in there before I bought the truck but yes I'd probably pull the ol' plenum card if I had to buy another 2nd gen.

Holy crap I was just looking at the truck!! Where are you located TC?

Anyway, if it's never been ran real hard I wouldn't touch it. Most people love to get a hold of "granny" cars that are babied, but I for one don't touch em.

Anyway, I highly doubt it gets 15 mpg and I wouldn't get a 2wd ram unless it was a manual and I was building a race truck.

I'm assuming "TC" means thread creator. I live in Roanoke off 220.
