Default Pilot bearing

How does the pilot bearing come out on a 318 with the nv3500? Does it just pull out?

It's pressed in. Is it a bushing? Or a bearing? If its a bushing..... pack the hole with grease, get a bolt that is about the same size as the shaft that sticks into it, and drive the bolt into the hole filled with grease. It will pop right out.

+1 on what Heyyou said. They can be a real b!tch. On my trans am I tried packing with grease, wet newspaper, slide hammer and it still wouldn't come out. Ended up using a pilot bearing removal tool from Advance. Install is easy though

We got it out with a slide hammer. Got the flywheel turned and put back on. Picked up the clutch kit from o reillys and when we tried to put it pressure plate on one bolt hole wouldn't line up. After inspection one of the bolt hole flanges on it was bent. It was dropped somewhere along the line because that spot on the box has a hole in it. So back to the store for a new one tomorrow

Be careful with a parts store clutch... I ran a Duralast clutch for 8 months in mine, and it went byebye for a reason.
