nope, has to be heat. the urethane that they use is way too hard for anything but heat.

Ive never messed with the rear windows in these trucks, but Ive never had to use heat on any other window before.

What about this (if link works): http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/wind...l-p-12480.aspx

I have never owned a truck with a sliding rear window that was not broken into through the sliding window.

no heat at all. you have to use a cold knife to cut it out, then once it is out you shave it down with a razor. paint polyurathane adhesive on the metal of your truck and put down new poly to seal in the window. you can use a peice of rope or nylon or something of the sort to take out or put in the peice of fixed glass. I worked in a auto glass shop for a few years and it is hard to cut out a piece of glass. i suggest you try to cut a few others before it. and be careful with that cold knife... it will cut the **** right outta your hand

Save your money and your sanity and buy a new slider. They are next to impossible to remove and will make you utter words that your mom would wash your mouth out for saying. 25+ years auto glass experience.....been there done that.

I'm sorry, I believe you. I should've said "Doesn't sound like fun". Mine has a slider. Never gets used. Being an extended cab makes it hard to reach.
