ok i see what your saying i guesa my tanks been changed Ive never put more then 50 bucks in it or 17 gallons

how empty was it when you filled it? like where on the gauge was the needle? cause i guarantee they have never put less than a 26 gallon tank in any of these trucks. even the v6 trucks have those big tanks.

it was empty and the needle goes pass full at 50 maybe my floats acten up

I think I would have to agree with redneck. I think the smallest tank even on the older trucks is 20 gallons. I think you need something better on there for an exhaust.

ran vin it has a 26 so Im going to lean toward it have a messed up float or something

i would guess someone might have had the sending unit out and bent the float rod so that it will register empty sooner and it would register full longer. easy thing to figure approximately how make miles you can go on a tank and never go farther than that without filling up. i know i use to never go much more than 300km with out topping up in my 81 before i got a working sending unit.

Its possible...my float was stuck on full for 8 months.....unscrewed the pump and i heard it splash to the bottom...worked fine ever since....so maybe yours is getting hung up somewhere...if your pump has been changed maybe you need to spin the pump and try it

that always seem like a great idea unless you buy another truck like i did. then you got twice the amount of work to do.
