Howdy, new to the forum. I have a 1996 5.9 1500 Ram truck and my fuel pump just went down...again! This is my 3rd one in about as many years. Outside that the truck runs great with 208,339 miles on it.
Any ideas as to why I may be going thru so many pumps? Anything else I need to be checking?

Airtex brand? Don't buy them. I've read bad things about them here. I put one in my truck, before I knew this, and I regret it.

 

Delphi or Denso are the brand you need to get for the fuel pump. They seem to have far less problems than any other brand.

 

+1 , Airtex or Carter for sure. And don't let the tank go to Empty or close to it. no matter what what brand. The pump needs to be cooled, and having enough gas in the tank helps.
