Default Hard starting

I have a 2001 diesel. When parked facing uphill for 24 hours it cranks more than normal to start. When parked facing downhill it starts normal, very quickly. Any thoughts?

Might be better off posting in the diesel section, but, does it matter how much fuel is in the tank? Im wondering if maybe the fuel is draining out of the pick-up. Im just guessing being that I dont know much at all about diesels.

Did you try entering "cummins hard start when parked on hill" on a search engine?
The first result has the same problem you have:

http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/98...g-up-hill.html

This guy's problem was a loose banjo fitting on the back of the head.
If this isn't your case, then start looking for leaks at the connector tube o-ring, filter cover, or any fuel lines including at fuel tank.

Thanks for the info and the lead to the Cummins forum. I will check it out and reply with what I find.
