Default Ticking Noise from Motor

I'm getting a ticking noise from my motor at all rpms it started happening after I took it off road and spun my tires at above average rpms for a extended period of time. I have yet to do the plenum repair my truck and it only has 38,817 miles on it. It does not to seem to have any less power than usual but there is a little oil in my exhaust and it does seem to be burning through gas a bit quicker than normal. It is overdue by about 900miles for a oil change but that will have to wait till I get my check next week, I'm also planning on digging into my intake manifold to see if my plenums blown and regardless if it is or not I'm going to repair it with the hughes plenum repair kit. Just wanted to get an opinion of what It might be thanks.

is your oil level full.

a tick at idle can be valve train noise. listen and see if the noise is coming from the valve covers.

a light tick or tack can also come from the lifters, center of the engine, under the intake.

how much RPM are we talking about? over 5000?
its probably nothing. change the oil and drive on.

Oil level is still high Ive been watching it closely just to be on the safe side. It's hard to tell were exactly the ticking is coming from because of how loud it is but if I had to guess its coming from the middle of the engine. And yes 38k miles shes really low for 14 years old. Oh and I only noticed oil in the exhaust 1 time and It wasn't allot but haven't seen any since.

how do all the spark plug wires look? i would also guess that it is a lifter or exhaust manifold leak. it is amazing how loud a small leak can be when it is right at the manifold.does it sound anything like this

Something like that but not as violent. I'll try to take a video of it later today and post it on here.

So I changed the oil about a week ago and it didn't make a difference I even changed from penziol to Royal Purple and stuck with the mopar oil filter as always. I did notice while I was under there that the left pipe coming off the header into the cat is a little bent up from a rock I got caught on mudding a while back but its nothing that would effect the flow really by the looks of it. Oil pressure is good when I tromp on it it flys and when im in the mud it purs like a kitten at 3k. The past 3 days ive had it in the mud the first day we drowned the motor and water and had to take the filter box off dry and clean everything out to get it running again and then it was fine. The second day I took it into water that was just a bit to deep and got some missfiring but it fixed itself and started driving normal actually without the ticking noise for a while. By the third day it came back when I started her up to make the drive to the mud pit thats all but dried up now and just took her through the trails and the tick noise is still there. Not loud or even noticable unless you focus on it or have the hood popped so I don't know what to think the only check engine codes ive been getting are the missfire codes I get when water sneaks into my filterbox the codes i got the second day stayed on until I took it up to oriellys and the guy reset it for me. I haven't done the plenum fix so right now thats the only thing I can think of that can be wrong. Let me know what you guys think thanks.

i think if you put royal purple in it and there is still a tick then you most likely have a leak at one of the manifolds.
