A518 is just a "catch all" for the 46RH (1994-1995) and 46RE (1999-2002), and all the slightly different variants of the latter. All 5.2L and 5.9L V8 2nd Gen Rams came with that transmission.

a518 is the old school name for the 46RH transmission just like the 727 transmission is the old name for the 36RH
