OE replacements on a lot of these websites. they're more expensive than the silla and spectra whatevers. are they actually OE? how do i know what's actually original. do i look for Valeo?
again, any suggestions on where to get?

I'd go with this from Rock Auto: VISTA-PRO Part # 431335 <-- That's assuming your truck is a 5.2L since you haven't stated.

Also, pull the thermostat and check it in a pot of boiling water to ensure it isn't sticking, stuck, or will even open. Of course, you'll have to replace the gasket on the housing, but that's cheap insurance.

i just got a call back from a local shop saying they found an aftermarket for 112...didn't know what brand...said it was pretty much identical.
should i go get it?

I'd get it local also. Buy online something that big and you'll be paying for shipping it back too and fro if it's defective, not to mention the amount of days more the truck will be down.
