Default Mufflers and Dual Exhaust

Hey there everyone, I have been thinking about putting dual exhaust and getting rid of the cat on my truck. It is a 1996 ram 1500 5.9L. I want to replace the factory muffler with a Dynomax Super Turbo aluminized muffler. I don't have alot of money, but want a decent warranty. Place i would buy this particular muffler has a 3 year warranty on it. Any opinions on the Dynomax muffler? Thanks , Keagan

Hey, I'm currently getting a true dual installed on my 95 5.2L. I went with Borla mufflers as they have one million mile warranties, they are made of high grade stainless steel right here in the USA and they sound the best. The best Borlas to buy for Dodge 2nd Gens are the ProXS #40352 if you're on a budget, they are $100 each shipped from Summit.

I don't know anything about the muffler you mentioned but a 3 year warranty on a muffler is pretty weak.

I had a set of them on my car several years ago. No problems with them but I'm in Florida so don't really have to worry about rust. I took them off just because I wanted something louder- as I remember they sounded really good under 3000 rpm but then got quiet above there.

@SilverSS, are you talking about the Borla muffler mentioned by Philosofly, or the Dynomax I mendtioned earlier?

I just went with a Thrush Glasspack from my local auto zone. After paying out the *** for a magnaflow setup on my old tahoe I was not willing to pay much.
The Thrush was 25 bucks and 50 to weld if I remember correctly. Sounds awesome. That, plus the 14x3 makes it sound great.

For the price of one Borla you could get 4 Thrush...

I run a magnaflow y-pipe and cat along with 3" magnaflow from the cat back. Got all the parts on ebay way cheaper than a full system.

I have always been told a single 3 will flow better than dual 2 1/2
