Depends on what 3/4 ton you get it out of. If it's out of a V10, Diesel, or one with a 241hd transfer case, then it will NOT bolt up. The input shaft is the wrong size.
The normal NV241 SHOULD bolt up. I can't say for sure though, as I don't know the output shaft sizes of the V8 gasser transmissions. But the 241 is basically a 231 with six gears in the planetary set. The 231 only has 3 gears. You may have to make some modifications to make it fit where the old one is though, as the 241 is a larger unit.
Your best bet is just to find a 231 out of a 1/2 ton. They shouldn't be too hard to come by.
