my brother about 4 years ago put a sticker on my tail gate it has faded and wore off but no matter what i have tried i cant get the film to come off u can still see an outline any advice is welcome

WD40 is usually effective for this. Although with it being on a painted surface, you may want to try a little on an out of site spot, to be sure it will not effect, ruin, mark, or otherwise deface the tailgate paint

If all trace of adhesive is gone, you can buff lightly.

ok i have tried the wd-40 to no avail i will try buffing it out tomorrow when i wash it

paste wax or rubbing compound.

randy im removing sticker residue not a stuck tail gate lol nice try tho i am going to try them in order as listed i will post what worked and try to get some before and after pic's

Blow torches work pretty good for that, don't they? Just heat it up a little, then scrape it off with a putty knife. Should work like a charm.

And after the repaint , you will barely see it

soapy water and a razor blade.

there was a sticker stuck to my bumper for a good 6 years and i finally pulled it off. 5 minutes with a blade and soapy washcloth took it right off. just be patient
