hello all
my 1998 1500 4x4 ram magnum has a hickup.
my steering wheel no longer locks once the key is removed (been that way for a while). I sometimes get a deal where the truck fails to turn over when key turns. i can hear the contacts on relay engage but some kind of safty is shunting it out. i could at first push in the brake & work the steering wheel an it would crank. yesterday the seatbelts started locking up in this condiction. once the belts lock the only way to get them unlocked is to turn off truck. the condiction is usually worse if truck is parked on a slop or tourqued.

any ideas out there?

Check the wiring in the steering column at/from the ignition switch.
